The 5th Annual Fast Break Against Cancer was held on October 16, 2009, 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. at Center Court in the Dean E. Smith Center. More than 300 guests joined Coach Williams for a breakfast to celebrate the UNC Men’s Basketball 2009 NCAA National Championship and the opening of the N.C. Cancer Hospital.

Coach Roy Williams was recognized for raising over $1 million in five years for cancer research, treatment and prevention programs in our community through the Fast Break event.

Eric Montross, former UNC basketball player, member of the 1993 NCAA National Championship team and former NBA star, was the guest speaker. UNC Men's Basketball assistant coaches, coaching great Bill Guthridge and "voice of the Tar Heels" Woody Durham also participated. Read full press release.
